"I'd rather sell one of my organs
than miss this event!"

On a scale of 1 to 5 how would you rate this race?

I would give this a 10 out of 5

What make of Bike and Set-up were you using?

. . . Specialized Epic Marathon Alu, fully custom to my requirements;
. . . Rear brain shock,
. . . Fox Front 100;
. . . Shimano flipshift XTR,
. . . XT Crank and cassette;
. . . Time pedals;
. . . Mavic SLR;
. . . Bontrager revolt tubeless,
. . . XTR brakes with hybrid disks

How Epic was the Race?

It's always the hardest because they make it harder each year. This is the benchmark, the pinnacle of multi-day MTB for 2 person teams.

If you are serious about this format, you have not ridden till you ride the ABSA Cape Epic. Food;Organisation; Riding terrain; physical exertion; temperature, is all at max levels.

Currently the next best to this is not even in view.

Would you do the race again and why?

I am there next year again, would rather sell one of my organs than miss this event!
