La Ruta, now in its’ 12th year, starts on the shoreline of the Pacific, traverses the tropical mountainous hinterland of Costa Rica and finishes on the shores of the Caribbean.
Altitude, humidity, temperature and mud, make this a “Team” event and personal fitness must be of a high standard.
You’ll need to be as fit as the proverbial “Butcher’s Dog”, if you hope to complete this coast to coast with your sanity and your bike intact.
