Held in July in the European Alps the TransAlp Challenge is the original Epic Race.
With a route of nearly 600kms; 20,000 metres of vertical climb and 8 days of competition the TransAlp has become the most challenging mountain bike event in the World.

Some Race History
Heinrich Albrecht and Chester Fabricius have had their hand on the tiller of Epic Mountain Bike Race design and organisation since the 1980s. Their inspiration in creating World Cup events in Europe and North America are legendary.
In 1998 they changed their focus and brought together over 200 teams of Mountain Bikers in what was to become the start of something Epic, The TransAlp Challenge.
The TransAlp Challenge 2007 Jubilee year
Now in its 10th year this Alpine Challenge is celebrating its Jubilee and retracing some elements of the original Albrecht- Fabricius course from 1998.
The route traces some of the most beautiful mountain ranges in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy from Mittenwald to Riva del Garda.

The preparations of the jubilee race are running on full speeds and the cooperation between the stage towns, organizers and sponsors are working out fabulously.
