Trek Mountain Bike

Trek 8000 Disc

“ A solid and dependable machine –
a Classic Hardtail ”

trek-mountain-bike001-8900d

This Trek Mountain Bike is an excellent entry-level machine, only let down by its tyres. The bontrager Jones ACX unfortunately just don’t cut the mustard with this set-up providing disappointing lateral traction. However, the 8000 performs well with the Rockshox as do the Shimano LX hydraulic disc Brakes.

All in all this is a solid turn out by Trek, with the Alpha ZR9000 frame being used in the 8500 at £2000. This is a good platform to upgrade from - the first step is to convert all the DEORE LX to XT. . .
